Structure and classification:

Wet electrostatic precipitators can also be divided into cross flow (horizontal) and vertical flow (vertical) according to the flow direction of exhaust gas. The type is mostly tubular structure, and the gas flow direction is vertical in and out. Generally speaking, the efficiency of vertical flow wet electrostatic precipitator is twice that of cross flow under the same ventilation cross-sectional area.

The dust collected on the plate can be washed off by water. Wet cleaning can avoid the re-flying of the captured dust and achieve high dust removal efficiency. Because there is no rapping device, the operation is more reliable. The device that uses water spray or overflow water to form a conductive film on the surface of the dust collecting electrode has problems of corrosion, sludge and sewage treatment. It is only used when the gas dust concentration is low and the dust removal efficiency is required to be high; Wet electrostatic precipitators that use corroded conductive materials as dust collectors do not require long-term water spray or overflow water. They only need to be flushed regularly according to the operating conditions of the system and consume only a very small amount of water. This part of the water can be recycled and reused, and the dust collection system is basically free. Secondary pollution.

Dust collection principle:

The dust collection principle of wet electrostatic precipitator is the same as that of dry electrostatic precipitator. The dust is charged by high-voltage corona discharge, and the charged dust reaches the dust collecting plate/tube under the action of electric field force. The dry electrostatic precipitator mainly deals with dry gas with very low water content, and the wet electrostatic precipitator mainly deals with the wet gas with high water content or even saturated. There is a big difference between WESP and DESP in the way of removing the dust captured on the dust collecting plate/tube. Dry electrostatic precipitators generally use mechanical rapping or sonic cleaning to remove dust on the electrodes, while wet electrostatic precipitators generally use mechanical vibration or sonic cleaning to remove dust on the electrodes. The dust collector adopts the method of regular flushing, so that the dust is removed with the flow of flushing fluid.


WESP has the advantages of high dust removal efficiency, low pressure loss, simple operation, low energy consumption, no moving parts, no secondary dust, low maintenance cost, short production downtime, can work below the dew point temperature of flue gas, and is compatible with Other flue gas treatment equipment is combined with each other and has the advantages of diversified design forms.

The wet electrostatic precipitator uses liquid to wash the surface of the dust collector for cleaning, which can effectively collect fine particles (PM2.5 dust, SO3 acid mist, aerosol), heavy metals (Hg, As, Se, Pb, Cr), organic pollution substances (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxins), etc. After the wet electrostatic precipitator is used, the dust emission in the wet flue gas can reach 10mg/m3 or even 5mg/m3. The dust collection performance has nothing to do with the dust characteristics. It is suitable for the treatment of wet flue gas, especially in power plants and steel mills. For the treatment of dust-laden flue gas after desulfurization, the equipment investment cost is high, and it needs to be used in conjunction with other dust removal equipment.
